Bob Dylan (born Robert Allen Zimmerman, May 24, 1941) is an American songwriter, singer, painter, and writer. He has been influential in popular music and culture for more than five decades.
The Grateful Dead was an American rock band formed in 1965 in Palo Alto, California. The founding members were Jerry Garcia (lead guitar, vocals), Bob Weir (rhythm guitar, vocals), Ron “Pigpen” McKernan (keyboards, harmonica, vocals), Phil Lesh (bass, vocals), and Bill Kreutzmann (drums). Drummer Mickey Hart and nonperforming lyricist Robert Hunter joined in 1967.
Dylan & the Dead is a collaborative live album by American singer-songwriter Bob Dylan and the Grateful Dead, released on February 6, 1989 by Columbia Records.
