Atacama was a Chilean-Swedish folk music group that was active in the 1970s and released three albums. Originally, the group consisted of Carlos Beyris (bombo), Carlos Morales (guitar, vocals), Juan Alvarez (quena, tarka, siku) and Francisco Roca (as Luis Veloz Roca, charango, vocals). As the group’s second album came out, it consisted of Carlos Morales, Elias Salazar (bombo), Francisco Roca and Thierry Carabin (quena, siku). In 1978, consisted of Francisco Roca, Christer Schapiro, Gaston Villaman and Joaquin Perez.
