Dave Evans (born 3.12.1940 – died 4.4.2021) was a British finger-picking guitarist. After serving in the Navy he moved to Bristol with Steve Tilston, signing with The Village Thing and releasing the Ian A. Anderson-produced The Words In Between, which was named one of the top ten albums in a contemporary Daily Mail review, with John Peel becoming a fan. This was followed by Elephantasia on the same label before releasing the instrumental Sad Pig Dance on Kicking Mule. After his 1976 album Take a Bite Out of Life, he retired and moved to Brussels, Belgium, working as a luthier, brewer and potter, although he still made the rare live performance.
“The Words In Between” is the debut album by British Folk guitarist Dave Evans. Released on The Village Thing Records in 1971.
