Catfish is an American blues rock band, founded by Bob Catfish Hodge in the late 1960s. The band was active in Detroit’s rock scene, opening up for Bob Seger, Black Sabbath, and Ted Nugent, as well as playing the Fillmore East. The group released Get Down on EpicRecords in 1970. Vocalist and guitarist Bob Hodge quickly took the reins of the group, releasing Live Catfish the same year, but with a new band lineup. Hodge went solo in 1972, adopting the Catfish moniker. He released several albums on Armen Boladian’s Eastbound Records and Westbound Records labels, steadily putting out albums throughout the 1980s and 1990s.
