Madness are an English ska band from Camden Town, north London, who formed in 1976. One of the most prominent bands of the late 1970s and early 1980s 2 Tone ska revival, they continue to perform with six of the seven members of their classic line-up. The line-up at the height of their fame was Suggs on vocals, Mike Barson (Monsieur Barso) on keyboards and vocals, Chris Foreman (Chrissy Boy) on guitar,  Lee Thompson (Kix) on saxophone and vocals, Mark Bedford (Bedders) on bass guitar, Dan Woodgate (Woody) on drums and Chas Smash on backing vocals, dancing and trumpet.

My Girl” is a song by British ska/pop group Madness from their debut album, One Step Beyond…. It was written by Mike Barson. The song was released as a single on 21 December 1979 and spent 10 weeks on the UK Singles Chart peaking at number 3.

The song was reissued in 1992 following the success of the reissued “It Must Be Love“. It reached number 27 in the UK Singles Chart.
