Pink Floyd were an English rock band formed in London in 1965. The original line-up was Syd Barrett on guitar and lead vocals, Nick Mason on drums, Roger Waters on bass and vocals, and Richard Wright on keyboards and vocals. Barrett was later replaced by Dave Gilmour.
The Final Cut (occasionally subtitled The Final Cut: A Requiem For The Post-War Dream) is the twelfth studio album by English progressive rock group Pink Floyd. It was released on 21 March 1983 by Harvest Records in the United Kingdom, and several weeks later by Columbia Records in the United States.
