(there are some surface marks visible on the vinyl when held up to the light but they don’t affect the sound quality apart from some light pops/crackles – bit of a wobble on the edge of the vinyl)
The Upsetters was the name given to the house band for Jamaican reggae producer Lee “Scratch” Perry. The name of the band comes from Perry’s nickname of Upsetter, after his song “I Am the Upsetter”, a musical dismissal of his former boss Coxsone Dodd.
Return of the Super Ape is a reggae studio album produced by Lee “Scratch” Perry, credited to the Upsetters. The album was originally released in Jamaica in 1978 and was the last album by the Upsetters to be released before Perry closed down his Black Ark studio. The cover was by Lloyd Robinson.
