Declan Patrick MacManus (born 25 August 1954), better known by his stage name Elvis Costello, is an English musician, singer-songwriter, and record producer. He first came to prominence in 1977 with his debut album “My Aim Is True”. He was then joined by his backing band, The Attractions (Pete Thomas on drums, Steve Nieve on keyboards and Bruce Thomas on bass guitar) who played with him through the 1980’s. Bruce Thomas departed in the 1990’s and was replaced by Davey Farragher, since then the backing band have been known as The Imposters.

My Aim Is True is the debut album by English singer-songwriter Elvis Costello. The album was produced by Nick Lowe and released on Stiff Records in 1977. The backing band on the album were members of the band Clover.
